Brochure Design for Derby’s Global Technology Cluster

The Global Technology Cluster will become a world class showcase for the UK in the support of open innovation practices and their commercialisation within the automotive, rail and aerospace sectors.  The GTC board comprises of Derby City Council, the University of Derby, research intense Universities, the site developers and client companies.  The brochure will be used to help promote the site, generate more interest and bring more innovation into Derby.

National marketing magazine The Drum has featured our project for Nestle UK.  The project completed in 2011 featured a set of materials including brochure, invites and mini site to attract developers to bid for the site.

We were really happy with this project and it’s great to have it featured in such a well recognised industry magazine.

Derby Feste Brochures

We’ve been working closely with the organisers of this years Feste to produce the printed materials for the event.  The Feste which takes place on the 23rd and 24th of September 2011 see’s the return of Sarruga who thrilled audiences in 2007 and 2008, with another of their jaw-dropping acts.

The brochure can be seen in full on the publishing site Issuu, complete with listings for Saturday and Sunday’s events.  Sarruga will present Peixos, which will see the city centre transformed into a spectacular seabed where giant illuminated fish and creatures from the deep represent the inhabitants of the sea as they move through the streets of Derby. Allow yourself to be lured into the experience by vivid colours and special effects, as music, sound and light immerse you in the beautiful ocean. Join the parade towards a fantastic finale at Cathedral Green.

Cocoa Works Brochure Arrives

To say we’re chuffed with the results really doesn’t do this brochure justice.  Sometimes a project just clicks and all the elements come together at just the right time, and this is a great example.  The stunning photography provided by Tristan Poyser which made the layout really shine, the amazing results of the foil blocked cover from A14, a client who ‘gets it’, and of course our hard work has made this project a real success.  You can download a copy from here although the printed version is the real star.

First Movement Literature Design

New prints for First Movement arrived in the studio this morning.  We have produced a set of three leaflets to help promote The Level Centre and The Mobile Level Centre.  The design uses an innovative folding technique, allowing the leaflet to be folded to A6 for easy postage. We also commissioned bespoke envelopes to be made in a translucent paper that allow for teasing amount of information to be shown as it arrives on a desk.  For more information on First movement you can visit First Movement.

Oviso Folders Arrive

We’ve been working closely with Oviso Financial Services for over a year now and when they asked us to produce a folder that clients could store useful information in we knew exactly how it should look and feel.  Sourcing manilla folders took us longer than expected, however the final result was well worth the wait.  These folders reflect Oviso’s high standards and are perfect for both business and personal clients to store all their correspondence.

Carbon Balanced Paper: Reducing our Carbon Footprint

Revolver Revolver have just completed our first ever order on Carbon Balanced Paper. But, just what is Carbon Balanced Paper?

Carbon Balanced Paper is an initiative spearheaded by  the World Land Trust. Put into English, its a way to reduce our carbon footprint.

Howard Smith Papers currently offer 2 ranges of Carbon Blanaced Paper, think4 and Greencoat 80 / 55. It is paper for which the production and distribution has been Carbon Balanced (offset) by the WLT, reducing our carbon footprint. It is also one of the most sustainable forms of communication around today. With our environment coming under increasing pressure, it’s important everyone tries to do their bit, and this is a short post about how Revolver Revolver are trying to do ours.

QUAD Exhibition Guide hits the town

If you’ve been in around Derby over the past few weeks, you may have seen one of our latest works for QUAD. We were commissioned to design their latest Exhibition Guide, which gives you information on the upcoming exhibitions at  Quad until April 2011.  The guide includes information on the Format Festival, the UK’s leading biennale of contemporary photography and related media.  You will be able to find thee all over Derby, 20,000 were printed!
